At the 2018 edition of SPIE Photonics West in San Francisco, imec presented its first shortwave infrared (SWIR) range hyperspectral imaging camera.
Reflected light in the SWIR range reveals a wealth of information on a variety of materials. This opens the door to exciting applications in machine vision, agriculture and medicine.
Imec’s SWIR camera combines CMOS-based spectral filters with InGaAs-based imagers. This results in a highly compact and affordable device that can capture discriminative spectral data in the 1000 – 1700 nm range.
